Herlof loves to sing the National Anthem with his guitar. He had a new wave of fun when he was able to kick off the Beach Party 5K race hosted by Grand Forks Marathon as part of their Grand Forks 10 Weekend. He had fun cheering on the runners and his favorite part was getting to wear a volunteer shirt as he was proud to be part of such a fun community group! 8/2024
Herlof was proud to sing one of his favorite songs, The Star Spangled Banner, to open the 83rd annual Nodak Electric Cooperative meeting in Grand Forks. The meeting and the meal were great, but Herlof thought that winning a screwdriver in a door prize was the best of all! 4/2023

Coronavirus has played it's hand in the world of sports for 2020. Along with missing the thrill of the games and eating concession food, this also means that Herlof has unfortunately not been able to share the Star Spangled Banner for fellow Americans. COVID has turned the world upside down, and this includes the sports world. In a normal year Herlof enjoys using his big voice to share the National Anthem for sports fans of all kinds. He was lined up for some spring baseball but plans changed when the season was cancelled. Now things aren't looking great for the Fall season either. As we patiently wait for the world settle down, Herlof still uses his voice in other ways. He was thrilled to take his turn as the reader in his church service. One of the best places to sing is at your own school. Herlof was proud to sing at his home court again in Northwood, ND. It was a Saturday afternoon double-header for the boys and girls teams who hosted a neighboring school. Free popcorn provided by the bank, a fundraiser for a local family, and a first grader proudly singing out the National Anthem. Welcome to small town America! 2/2020.

Herlof was very happy to be invited back for a new season of singing the National Anthem for NDSU Athletics. A wrestling match was his first event one year ago so it was fun to be back with the team again. The Scheels Center at the Sanford Health Athletic Complex is a great facility and it is pretty cool for a little boy to be able to share his voice there for the athletes, the crowd, and the Country. As we head into the fall season the sports calendars fill up. And along with that the opportunity to hear The Star Spangled Banner skyrockets! Herlof loves to sing the Anthem for people. Typically sporting events request an audition video before letting you sing live. Herlof recently sent an audition video to NDSU. And it should be noted that his family cheers equally loud for UND! Herlof recently visited Medora, ND for a tiny family vacation. The whole trip was excellent. They were treated to wonderful music everywhere they went! And what a surprise to have a spontaneous invitation to sing a number on stage during the pre-show of the Musical. It's always good to have a few memorized songs in your back pocket! The Greater Grand Forks Fair hosted a local Voice competition this year. Herlof joined in along with his trusty guitar. It was a small but talented group. Herlof got to see others perform different types of music which was fun to see. And Herlof was awarded a 2nd place cash prize which he split between his savings account and Legos. 6/2019
Herlof had the privilege of singing the National Anthem at the 2019 Girl's Class B State Tournament at the Betty Engelstad Area in Grand Forks. It is quite an experience to lead a group of a few thousand spectators in the National Anthem with a full color guard. 3/2019.
Singing for the Men's basketball team was a fun experience, so he was very happy to be invited back to sing for the women's team. He was also proud to sport a Bison vest during the event! 12/2018.

Herlof is a fan of singing the Star Spangled Banner. He is also a fan of NDSU. At 5 years old he led the National Anthem at his very first sporting event, a NDSU wrestling dual. As a gift he received a President Coin from the University President. He also received a blue container of mini m&ms from his mom. He was excited about both! 11/2018.
This little cowboy shared the National Anthem for the Ranch Rodeo at the North Dakota Winter Show in Valley City. The whole event was a brand new experience. Herlof was able to see REAL cowboys in action! 3/2019.
